What Our Notary Clients Are Saying

Common Questions

See some common questions and answers below, or call us at 702.505.9005

  • What is a Remote Online Notary (RON)?

Remote Online Notary (RON) is a service that lets you sign important documents using your computer or smartphone camera. You can sign in from anywhere worldwide, as long as you have internet access.

Our notary will witness you sign the document and verify your identity during the video call. Then, they'll apply an electronic seal and signature to bind the document legally.

RON is an excellent option if you need to sign important documents but can't meet with someone in person. However, it's essential to verify with the party requiring the notarized document whether they will accept a remotely notarized document.

Not all states have authorized RON yet, so it's essential to check if it's available in your area before using it. It's always best to consult a legal professional to ensure your document is notarized properly if you're unsure.

  • Is Remote Online Notarization legal and widely accepted?

Absolutely. Many states have passed laws that recognize and permit RON. However, acceptance can vary by jurisdiction and document type. Confirming with the receiving party is always a good idea to ensure they accept documents notarized online.

  • How much will this online notarization cost?

The cost will depend on the document being certified and exactly what the notary is required to do. Before your appointment, we will discuss your document requirements to provide an accurate fee quote.

  • Do I need an appointment?

    Short answer: Yes!

While we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests, scheduling your appointment in advance is the best way to ensure we’re available when needed. It also gives us a head start on preparing your document for online notarization, making the process smoother and more efficient for everyone. Your time matters, and we’re committed to being prepared and prompt.

If you need a last-minute appointment, please call us at 702.381.6900, option 4.

Thank you for choosing Zapit Notary Solutions!

  • I don't have a US Government ID, can I use my foreign passport?

Unfortunately, we can only accept U.S. government-issued identification for online notarizations. This includes a valid photo driver’s license, state ID, passport, passport card, or green card (officially known as a Permanent Resident Card).

If you do not have one of these forms of identification, you may need to contact a notary in your country or explore other options for notarization. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions!

  • What do I need for my online notarization appointment?

Thank you for choosing Zapit Notary Solutions for your online notarization needs! We truly value your trust and are here to make the process simple and seamless. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you prepare:

Get Started on Our Scheduling Page:

Quick Questionnaire: Please begin by answering a few simple questions. This will help us tailor the process to your needs.

Upload Your Document: Next, upload your unsigned but completed document in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format.

Choose Your Date & Time: Once that’s done, pick a time that works best for you.

    Verify Identification:

Make sure everyone involved has a valid, non-expired, government-issued photo ID. It’s a standard procedure to ensure security for all parties.

    Watch for Our Email:

After everything is set, sit back and check your inbox. We’ll send you an invitation link for your online notary session.

Following these steps ensures a smooth and hassle-free experience. We’re excited to assist you and look forward to working together!

  • Why do I need to bring proof of identity and proof of address?

Absolutely. Many states have passed laws that recognize and permit RON. However, acceptance can vary by jurisdiction and document type. Confirming with the receiving party is always a good idea to ensure they accept documents notarized online.

  • How do you ensure someone isn't using my identity?

    Excellent question!

Your security and peace of mind are our top priorities. To ensure this, we start by verifying your physical, government-issued ID. But that’s not all—our process also includes KBA (Knowledge-Based Authentication).

This extra layer of security involves answering a series of personal questions to confirm your identity. Consider it a quick security checkpoint to guarantee it’s genuinely you.

With these measures, we ensure every notarization is both genuine and secure.

  • Are there any types of documents that can't be notarized remotely?

While Remote Online Notarization (RON) is accepted for many documents, some exclusions apply due to specific state laws and requirements.

To ensure compliance, we recommend consulting the party requesting the notarized document to confirm their acceptance of electronically notarized forms. Additionally, your state government can provide further clarity regarding any restrictions.

If you have questions or need assistance, we’re here to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!

  • Can I get a refund for my notary service?

We do provide refunds in specific situations, such as:

    • If our software isn’t functioning at the time of notarization.
    • If we fail to show up for your appointment.
    • If we cancel the appointment.
    • If we cannot notarize your document before the appointment begins.

However, refunds will not be issued in the following cases:

    • If you fail to show up for your appointment, we will cancel it. (We allow a 5-minute grace period, after which the appointment will be canceled.)
    • If the third party requesting your notarized document refuses to accept an electronically notarized document.
    • If you are unable to provide a valid U.S. government-issued photo ID.
    • If your computer or equipment is not functioning correctly during the notarization process.
    • If you fail the identity verification process.

Please note that you must confirm with the receiving party whether they will accept an electronically notarized document. If you’re unsure, we recommend verifying this before scheduling your appointment.
